LAS VEGAS – (May 29, 2015) – Brandon Barnette, a poker supervisor from Corona, Calif., called his wife, at home with their four-month-old son, on Friday, May 29 around 1:00a.m. to tell her he had won it all. Brandon emerged from the kickoff event of the 2015 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas the champion with total winnings of $75,704 after beating 687 competitors. TEMECULA, Calif. – (May 1, 2014) – Two full days of poker at Pechanga Resort & Casino proved profitable for 60 top players. RiverCard® and the Pechanga Poker Room hosted the “Quest for the Cup” tournament April 25 and 26. After the two full days of competition, Dustin Skarra of San Diego, Calif., emerged the winner ahead of 409 other contenders. He took home the first place prize of $22,140 in the $50,000 guarantee event. Buy-in was $200 + $35. Skarra, a flight paramedic, told the staff this is the most excited he has ever been playing poker.
