For the first time ever, the Lobby Bar will be added to the Valentine’s Day dining special line-up. The Lobby Bar opened December 26, 2017 as part of the resort/casino’s $300 million expansion and is a farm-to-table, bistro-style outlet with a variety of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. If you’re health conscious or if you’d like to try out something new, stop in for Chef Jose Mendoza’s three-course Valentine’s Day feast for $59, which includes a bottle of champagne. You’ll get an appetizer choice of either the His or Hers Oysters. “Hers” will be French Kiss oysters with cucumber gin granite and “His” will be Malaspina oysters with blood orange tequila mignonette. Couples may also choose the blue cheese soufflé with baby beets, mesclun greens and spiced hazelnuts. There are two options for the main course – the Surf and Turf with wild mushroom ragu and broccolini or the Maine Lobster Fricassee, salsify and fromage blanc sauce, snap peas and the pomelo grapefruit salad. The classic New York style cheesecake with strawberries finishes off this lover’s meal.
From 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., the Pechanga Buffet will serve lunch and dinner respectively on Valentine’s Day for $34.99, with children ages three to 11 for $14.99. Children younger than three are free. The chef’s Valentine’s prix fixe menu features a variety of indulgent choices starting with an appetizer of artichoke parmesan crostini, then the chopped Italian salad, followed by the special entrée of the night, the surf and turf filet, an eight ounce filet mignon with seafood stuffed shrimp, served with grilled asparagus. Chef Michael Henry has prepared a pre fixe menu, starting with the broiled jumbo pacific oyster with lump crab and spinach, finished with hollandaise and artichoke chips for $11. For the entrée, guests can indulge in the grilled bacon wrapped filet of beef with dried cherry demi-glace, served with sweet potato and pear gratin and French green beans for $34. To top it off, you have to try the strawberry cheesecake in a jar for $4.95. This chosen dessert is a crowd pleaser and caps off the meal with just the right amount of sweet.
