Second Annual International Yoga Day at Pechanga Draws Huge Crowds with Even Bigger Hearts

Community Unites to Celebrate International Yoga Day with Pechanga

TEMECULA, Calif. – (June 21, 2019) – Warrior Two, Meditation, Heat, and Community. This was the quadfecta found at the second annual International Yoga Day series at Pechanga Resort Casino on June 21. Kicking off the summer solstice, more than 50 children, women and men of all ages gathered for four free yoga and meditation classes opened to the public. Together, the community raised $464.

The resort/casino celebrated with four local yoga influencers from the Temecula Yoga Collective and Hot Yoga Healthy You studios. The Temecula yogis led four yoga and meditation classes and shared their own styles and passion for the practice with the community.

One hundred percent of the $464 raised will go to the Give Back Yoga Foundation’s Mindful Yoga Therapy program. Mindful Yoga Therapy benefits U.S. veterans by providing yoga, meditation, breath work, and yoga nidra to help them transition to a life of strength and resilience.

Yoga enthusiasts celebrate International Yoga Day annually on June 21, the summer solstice, which carries a special significance in many parts of the world. The holiday brings together yogis and non-yogis alike and recognizes the physical, mental and spiritual practice. It’s a day for self-care, personal growth, healing, and community bonding.

Pechanga’s $300 million expansion in 2018 created the addition of the new Spa Pechanga, a two-story, 25,000 square foot facility with 17 treatment rooms, private spa pools, hydrotherapy pools, a full-service salon and wellness offerings. International Yoga Day coincides with Spa Pechanga’s commitment to wellness.
