Pechanga Aims to Move the Needle in Vaccination Rates with Aug. 31st Vaccination Clinic-Open to the Public

TEMECULA, Calif. – (August 26, 2021) – Pechanga hosts a free vaccination clinic open to the public Tuesday, August 31. From 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., anyone looking to receive their first or second COVID-19 vaccination shot should stop into the Summit Events Center at Pechanga in Temecula. The resort’s management expects good attendance as more seek to get vaccinated amid concerns over the Delta variant. Recipients who are between 12 and 17 should be accompanied by an adult. To get the vaccine, just walk in. The free vaccination clinic is open to Pechanga employees and the public.

Pechanga hosts this second open-to-the-public vaccine clinic for guests and team members as a follow up to their first held on August 10. Thousands of Pechanga team members got the shot through onsite vaccination clinics for employees and their family members over the last six months. Pechanga also rewards its employees with $100 gift cards for getting vaccinated. One of the only casinos in the country to offer a vaccination incentive to its employees, Pechanga’s leadership landed on giving staff a $100 gift card incentive after considering a variety of ways to encourage its workforce to take the protective measure. The Vaccination Gratitude Gift Cards, valued at $100 after taxes, have helped encourage hundreds more team members take this important step toward ending the pandemic. Team Members are providing proof of their completed vaccinations to Pechanga’s Human Resources Department. The casino’s employee vaccination rate stands well above the state’s for fully vaccinated residents.

“In coordination with our governmental partners, team members eligible for the vaccine were able to be vaccinated on-site for their convenience,” said Andrew Masiel, Sr., President of the Pechanga Development Corporation Board of Directors. “In addition to on-site opportunities, many of our team members went out on their own and received the vaccine. We wanted to express our sincere gratitude for doing their part and helping keep themselves, their loved ones, fellow team members, and guests safe. As the experts have noted, this is still the most important tool to end the pandemic.”

Pechanga anticipates spending about $250,000 on the thank you gift cards for its vaccinated team members. Pechanga joins other major businesses that have offered incentives to staff who have received their COVID shots including one Las Vegas casino, American Airlines and Marriott International.
