TEMECULA, Calif. (November XX, 2019) — Kurt Tiedt of Corona, Calif. started off his Halloween week with more than just candy. Pechanga Resort Casino hosted a win-a-Lexus event on Sunday, October 27 for a night full of cash and EasyPlay drawings which concluded with a drawing for the brand new luxury car.

As the drawing happened, Kurt had already left Pechanga to head home, not really realizing he had qualified for the drawing by playing slots that night. A casino representative called him as he drove home, telling him he had been selected and he had a limited amount of time to come back to claim the car. Kurt said he turned right around and headed back to Pechanga.

Kurt says it was very surprising but also pretty exciting to win as this particular day has a lot of meaning to him.

He told casino staff that his mother passed away 15 years ago to the day from cancer. And lost his business partner a year ago to cancer, so that evening was really just about doing something nice for others. He was actually there to see the B52s in concert at the Pechanga with his business partners’ son, but gave his ticket away to the child’s mom, and he ended up gambling while the two enjoyed the concert.

Kurt believes winning the car was good karma. He says he tries to do nice things for people and never really gets nice things for himself. This win was also a mechanical blessing in disguise for him. His current car (15 years old) started having problems the day after he won the new Lexus.
