TEMECULA, Calif. – (Jan. 22, 2019) – Three lucky winners, three different games. In less than one week’s time, three people playing slots, blackjack and bingo, respectively, found themselves the winners of big jackpots totaling more than $220,000.
The streak started when Thomas Turnour of Alpine, Calif. walked into Pechanga on a recent Friday afternoon as sat down at a Bally Quick Hit slot machine. The Quick Hit lived up to its name for Turnour because after only 20 minutes and several bets on the three-reeled machine, he hit the jackpot for $100,661.
Posing for a photo with a big Pechanga casino check in front of the winning machine, Turnour flashed a “hang loose” sign with his right hand. Also flashing overhead was a sign showing a $102,318.25 jackpot had been hit there by a previous lucky player. Turnour said the jackpot will come in handy to pay off some bills, and for him to come back to Pechanga.
Over on a popular $10 blackjack table two days later, Shin Kang, who was visiting Pechanga from the Atlanta suburb of Lawrenceville, was betting among a group of other guests. He thought it would be a good idea to place the available side bet in case the cards that triggered Pechanga’s blackjack progressive came his way.
The cross-country visitor unpacked a lot of luck that evening as he was dealt a royal flush and scored the $98,417.72 progressive jackpot. Kang wore an elated grin as he posed for photos with friends. He was not immediately sure what he would do with the winnings, though he hopes he can visit Pechanga and Temecula in the future.
Several days after Kang’s hefty haul on the tables, the streak migrated to Pechanga’s second level, where guests find 700-seat Pechanga Bingo. Julie Dejonge of Temecula paid a visit to the ultra-modern bingo facility to celebrate her birthday. While playing the Friday bingo session’s “small frame” game for about 30 minutes, Dejonge quickly realized she hit “BINGO.”
What she did not immediately notice? The number configuration scored her the $21,387.00 green jackpot. The registration technician from Riverside County said she was just enjoying her birthday and the cash windfall was the perfect present. Dejonge told Pechanga Bingo staff she would be putting the money in the bank.
Winners are made every day at Pechanga Resort Casino. You could be next.
