12 Temecula Kids Brought Halloween to Journey at Pechanga and Earned Free Golf Lessons

TEMECULA, Calif. – (October 30, 2017) – Halloween came early at Journey at Pechanga, the Pechanga Resort & Casino championship golf course. Twelve little ghouls and goblins hit the links at the Journey at Pechanga golf course on Thursday, October 26. Just for dressing up in costume, the kids received a free golf lesson taught by PGA Golf Professional and Journey at Pechanga Instructor Randy Chang.

The 12 witches, superheroes and sharks worked on grip, swing and general fitness. Journey golf specializes in teaching junior golfers correct swing patterns so they don’t develop back problems down the road, so they learned to master the foundations. Thursday’s free lesson wasn’t the only option southern California kids have to play some golf and learn the basics free of charge.

From November 1-11, kids ages 3-18 can bring in one full bag of Halloween candy to the Pro Shop at Journey at Pechanga in Temecula. They’ll get a free golf lesson on the Saturday or Sunday of their choice. The donated candy goes to Operation Gratitude, which distributes the candy to U.S. veterans and troops overseas. Last year, 10 children earned free golf lessons and brought in 45 pounds of candy for our service men and women. Candy may be dropped off between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. every day at the Journey at Pechanga Pro Shop front desk.

All Halloween candy donations will be sent to U.S. military members through Operation Gratitude, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to lift the spirits and meet the evolving needs of those serving in active duty and veterans. A large part of their mission is to send items and care packages to troops stationed overseas as well as veterans groups.
