TEMECULA, Calif. – (June 12, 2016) – A lucky Los Angeles lady is now $1,058,333.33 richer thanks to a bit of stubbornness during a recent trip to Pechanga Resort & Casino. The winner, wishing to remain unidentified, scored the huge progressive jackpot at 8:00p.m. Sunday, June 12 on a $1.00 Golden Pagodas Gold Series slot machine by Rocket Gaming Systems. She said she had $80 in the machine and had played for about 30 minutes before striking the windfall. Her son and his fiancé had wanted to leave the resort/casino some time earlier, though mom opted to keep playing. She found her diligence rewarded as the 12th person to hit more than $1 million at Pechanga Resort & Casino.
The winner told casino staff she initially thought she won $10,000 as she saw the “Gold Series” symbols on the slot reels line up across the center line. She quickly realized she won the wide area progressive jackpot for $1,058,333.33, but admitted, “it took about an hour for this to really hit me.” When asked what she may do with her winnings, the guest replied, “I’ll come to Pechanga some more, and maybe take my family on a vacation.”

The previous million dollar win, also on a Gold Series slot machine, at Pechanga happened March 2, 2015 and was won by a retired iron worker from Perris, Calif.
