ONTARIO, Calif. — In the cold, early morning hours on Friday, December 6, and with TV cameras looking in, Pechanga Fire Department firefighters opened the doors to one of their shiny fire trucks to reveal more than $3,000 worth of toys stuffed in there. The toys were previously loaded onto the truck from Pechanga in Temecula and given that morning to ABC7’s Spark of Love Toy Drive in conjunction with Toys for Tots. Pechanga volunteers who shopped for the toys estimate there were 350 items aboard the Pechanga fire truck. They were then turned over to go straight into a deserving child’s hands for the holidays.

Pechanga has donated toys to the Spark of Love Toy Drive for several years now and also regularly donates funds and toys to the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaigns. Pechanga also donates 1,000 turkeys to regional food banks and rescue missions for the holidays each year.

The Pechanga Fire Station on the Pechanga Resort Casino grounds is one of the many Spark of Love drop off locations. The Pechanga Fire Department is continuing to collect toys for the Spark of Love campaign through Tuesday, December 24. Donors can drop off new and unwrapped toys any time, day or night. From Pechanga Parkway, turn right on Resort Casino Drive. Drive straight beyond the roundabout and the Pechanga Fire Station is on the right.
