ONTARIO, Calif. – (Dec. 3, 2018) – In the early morning hours on Friday, Nov. 30 with TV cameras looking in, Pechanga Fire Department firefighters opened the doors to one of their shiny fire trucks to reveal it stuffed with more than $3,000 worth of toys.

The toys were loaded onto the truck from Temecula and given that morning to ABC7’s Spark of Love toy drive in conjunction with Toys for Tots. Pechanga volunteers who shopped for the toys estimate there were 350 items aboard the Pechanga fire truck that were then turned over to go straight into a deserving child’s hands for the holidays.

Pechanga has donated toys to the Spark of Love toy drive for several years in a row, and also regularly donates funds and toys to the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaigns. Pechanga annually donates 1,000 turkeys to regional food banks and rescue missions for the holidays.

The Pechanga Fire Station on the Pechanga Resort Casino grounds is one of the many Spark of Love drop off locations. The Pechanga Fire Department is continuing to collect toys for the Spark of Love campaign through Dec. 24. Donors can drop off new and unwrapped toys any time, day or night.
