TEMECULA, Calif. (December 14, 2021) — In celebration of the Year of the Tiger, Pechanga Resort Casino will offer guests exclusive dining specials at its three Asian restaurants, drink specials, and festive décor throughout the resort. Ring in Lunar New Year while you stroll through decorative holiday adornments throughout the property. Decorations will go up across Pechanga on January 17 and will stay up for an entire month. Lunar New Year is February 1, 2022.
The chefs of Bamboo, Blazing Noodles and Umi Sushi & Oyster Bar are each preparing for Lunar New Year by creating specialty dishes. These dishes incorporate elements important in many Asian cultures, and that signify good luck, prosperity, and healthfulness.
Guests of Umi Sushi & Oyster Bar can experience three dishes exclusive to the restaurant for Lunar New Year. Each is stuffed and wrapped since food prepared in this way symbolizes good fortune, according to Umi chef Kiyo Ikeda. Chef Ikeda plans on imparting good fortune through his bold flavors in the Lobster Three Ways ($98), Sticky Rice Stuffed Chicken ($58), and the Eel Lotus Wrap ($42) dishes. “Lotus is very common throughout Asian mythologies and religions, and for many Western customers, the lobster and whole chicken is often used for celebrations,” said Ikeda.
Chef Marie Surakul at Bamboo serves Steamed Whole Fish ($98) which means an increase in prosperity and Long Life Noodles with Beef Tenderloin ($38). She points out that noodles are a symbol of happiness and longevity. She also knows guests experience instant happiness while eating these Lunar New Year specialties.
Blazing Noodles, just off the Pechanga hotel lobby, dishes up eight traditional Asian specialties for the occasion. These include Fried Shrimp Balls, Garlic Steamed Lobster with Noodles, Sweet & Sour Short Rib, Fried Red Snapper, Curry Beef Fried Rice, Black Pepper Pork Chops, Braised Tofu with Bok Choy, Mushrooms and Oyster Sauce, Stir-fry Lamb Meat with Spicy XO Sauce. Prices for the special Blazing Noodles dishes range from $22 to $92.
The Blazing Noodles, Bamboo and Umi specialties will be served from Jan. 28 through Feb. 13. Reservations are recommended at Umi Sushi & Oyster Bar and may be made by visiting www.Pechanga.com/eat or calling (951) 770-8504.
If guests wish to seek longevity, prosperity or good fortune in the liquid form, they can stop by the Acorn, Corner or Round Bars inside Pechanga from Jan. 28 to Feb. 13. For $12.75. Pechanga’s expert mixologists will create a 5 Spice Old Fashioned, a cocktail created especially for the Lunar New Year. The five spices include cinnamon, cloves, fennel seed, star anise and Szechuan peppercorns and represent the five elements of earth, water, fire, air and metal. The elements describe phases of life that are constantly moving through Yin and Yang, according to Chinese tradition.
Lunar New Year décor celebrating the Year of the Tiger will also be on full display starting January 17. The décor provides perfect backdrops for photos and social media moments.
