TEMECULA, Calif. – (June 21, 2018) – Wearing stretchy yoga gear and personal rubber mats under their arms, guests of all ages (even a mom and baby) gathered at Pechanga Resort Casino for a free, large-scale community yoga class. The casino celebrated 2018 International Yoga Day by offering the first of its kind class on the new grassy event lawn adjacent to The Cove pool complex. Spa Pechanga Supervisor and yoga instructor, Mimi Ko, led the class. Yogis donated funds to benefit Give Back Yoga. The organization shares yoga and meditation with veterans, cancer survivors, incarcerated individuals, and those overcoming addiction or eating disorders.
Yoga enthusiasts celebrate International Yoga Day annually on June 21, the summer solstice which carries a special significance in many parts of the world. The holiday brings together yogis and non-yogis alike and recognizes the physical, mental and spiritual practice. It’s a day for self-care, personal growth, healing and community bonding.
With the resort/casino’s $300 million expansion came the addition of the new Spa Pechanga, a two-story, 25,000 square foot facility with 17 treatment rooms, private spa pools, hydrotherapy pools, a full-service salon and wellness offerings. Spa Pechanga offers yoga classes to resort guests every Saturday and Sunday at 9 a.m. free of charge.
