Pechanga Supports Special Olympics with $20,000 Donation & Law Enforcement Torch Run

lap with torch and banner_smPECHANGA INDIAN RESERVATION, Calif. – (May 18, 2015) – Special Olympics Southern California, Pechanga and Riverside County Law Enforcement celebrated a kickoff to the 2015 summer games season with the lighting of Flame of Hope at Pechanga Resort & Casino. On a crisp and sunny Sunday afternoon in May, about 150 police officers, firefighters and other law enforcement, Special Olympics athletes and the public gathered outside the resort/casino to see the Special Olympics torch be lit from a ceremonial cauldron. The crowd heard a few remarks by Riverside County Sheriff, Stan Sniff, and by Pechanga Development Corporation board member Ken Perez about their longstanding commitments to the organization.

Check presentation_smBefore the torch lighting ceremony concluded, Pechanga presented a $20,000 check to the Special Olympics to help support critical programs in the community. Athletes then laced up their shoes as they readied for the ceremonial first lap through the hotel/casino’s valet area.

Air Supply was formed shortly after Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock met the first day of rehearsal as chorus members in a Sydney, Australia production of “Jesus Christ Superstar” in May 1975. Signed by Clive Davis to Arista Records in 1980, Air Supply scored an immediate hit with “Lost In Love,” an edited-down version of a previous Australian hit which reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song initiated a run of seven consecutive U.S. Top Fives in just over two years, including their #1 “The One That You Love” in 1981. Pechanga Looking for a Few Good Men & Women at Military Open House

TEMECULA, Calif. – (Jan. 22, 2015) – Pechanga Resort & Casino hosts an employment open house specifically for current and former members of the military. Taking place Wednesday, January 28 from 9:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. in the Turtle Conference Room on the Pechanga hotel’s second floor, Pechanga Human Resources professionals will meet with prospective job applicants with military experience to gauge their interest and skills in order to fill available positions in six of the resort’s 10 divisions. Military applicants have the opportunity to listen to testimonials from a panel of current Pechanga employees who are also armed services veterans. Candidates are encouraged to ask questions and gain more information about the culture of working at the state’s largest resort/casino before they head into their interview with a Human Resources specialist.

The shipping supervisor bought in for $65 and in a matter of minutes, called “Bingo!” and realized she had triggered the progressive jackpot for $28,917.00. “I kind of had this weird feeling when I came into the bingo facility, almost like my hands were itching. Some said that means you’re going to get money. I guess they were right.” She says she plans to save some of the winnings and will give some to charity.
