TEMECULA, Calif. – (Sept. 28, 2018) – Hundreds of poker players felt the excitement of so many winning possibilities during Pechanga Resort Casino’s Endless Summer Poker Series tournament held in late September.

The big winner emerging from the $200,000 Guarantee Main Event was Michael Knight from Escondido, California. Knight took home the first-place prize of $33,616. Holding up his winning pocket Kings and wearing an extremely pleased grin during post-tournament photos, Knight relished beating out 62 other money finishers for the top spot. Not immediately sure what he would do with his winnings, he said he’d be back to play at the Pechanga Poker Room soon.

Other big winners included Paulette Renney who took first place in the $30,000 Guarantee No-Limit tournament event. She won her final hand with pocket 3s and showed off her shiny trophy and ample chip stack during celebratory photos.

Gilbert Radovan and Sean Beachler both took home $5,335, chopping first and second place in the Series first $20,000 guarantee event.

Thu Nguyen of Westminster, Calif. took down the last day’s $30,000 guarantee event claiming the final trophy of the Series.

“We haven’t had a big series like this in a long time, probably 10 years,” said Richie Lopez, Pechanga’s assistant director of poker and OTB. “We really want to showcase what we do here and get back in the game of having big events each year. So far, we’ve received a lot of positive feedback about this event and our goal is to work our way up to a half-million guarantee.” 

More than 1,300 players entered Pechanga’s Endless Summer Poker Series.
