Pechanga Team Member receives a COVID-19 vaccine<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

TEMECULA, Calif. \u2013 (August 6, 2021) \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0Pechanga hosts a free vaccination clinic open to the public this Tuesday, August 10. From 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., anyone looking to receive their first or second COVID-19 vaccination shot can come into the Summit Events Center at Pechanga in Temecula. The resort\u2019s management expects a few hundred people to attend as the number of Riverside County residents receiving the vaccine has increased to more than 50 percent in recent days. Recipients who are between 12 and 17 should be accompanied by an adult. To get the vaccine, just walk in. The free vaccination clinic is open to Pechanga employees and the public.<\/p>\n

Pechanga has also been offering onsite vaccination clinics for its employees and their family members for more than six months. Over two months ago, Pechanga\u2019s leadership announced they would be saying thank you to its team members who have received the COVID-19 vaccine by rewarding them with a $100 jackpot (a $100 Visa gift card). Still one of the only casinos in the country to offer a vaccination incentive to its employees, Pechanga\u2019s leadership landed on giving staff a $100 gift card incentive after considering a variety of ways to encourage its workforce to take the protective measure. The casino\u2019s vaccination rate among employees is well above the state\u2019s for fully vaccinated residents.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn coordination with our governmental partners, team members eligible for the vaccine were able to be vaccinated on-site for their convenience,\u201d said Andrew Masiel, Sr., President of the Pechanga Development Corporation Board of Directors. \u201cIn addition to on-site opportunities, many of our team members went out on their own and received the vaccine. We wanted to express our sincere gratitude for doing their part and helping keep themselves, their loved ones, fellow team members, and guests safe. As the experts have noted, this is still the most important tool to end the pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n

The wish was to thank staff members who had already been vaccinated and to encourage others who were considering receiving the vaccine. \u201cWe considered a very large raffle of sorts, but ultimately decided we wanted all of our fully vaccinated team members to be winners,\u201d said Masiel.<\/p>\n

Pechanga coordinated a series of vaccination clinics onsite to make access as convenient as possible for eligible employees. The Vaccination Gratitude Gift Cards, valued at $100 after taxes, have helped encourage hundreds more team members to take this important step toward ending the pandemic. Team Members are providing proof of their completed vaccinations to Pechanga\u2019s Human Resources Department.<\/p>\n

Pechanga anticipates spending about $250,000 on the thank you gift cards for its vaccinated team members. Pechanga joins other major businesses that have offered incentives to staff who have received their COVID shots including one Las Vegas casino, American Airlines and Marriott International.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
