A premier sponsor of the Los Angeles Chargers, Pechanga and the Bolts are issuing multiple public service announcements stressing the importance of casting one\u2019s ballot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we can go out and vote and let our voice be heard, that\u2019s very important,\u201d said Chargers running back Justin Jackson. \u201cIt\u2019s the way that we can get policies enacted that are actually going to change things.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Chargers\u2019 campaign has been visible this month in the form of videos and posts on both entities\u2019 social media platforms and websites. This is the first time the Los Angeles Chargers and Pechanga, two sources of premier entertainment in Southern California, have teamed up in an effort to inspire voters to get to the polls.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery two years we have an opportunity to vote and amplify our voices in the corridors of power in Sacramento and Washington D.C.,\u201d said Mark Macarro, Tribal Chairman of the Pechanga Band of Luise\u00f1o Indians. \u201cLet\u2019s make sure they listen to all of us and respect all of us by voting, either by mail or in-person, but no matter what, vote.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also points out that Native Americans were not granted the right to vote in the United States until 1924, and that up until 1957, many native peoples were barred in some states from voting. \u201cOur people know what it is like to not have a vote. Many of our elders who were around back then can remember this. We encourage all citizens to get familiar with the candidates and the issues, and then go make their voices heard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe the people are stronger in numbers,\u201d said Chargers defensive lineman Justin Jones. \u201cEverybody\u2019s voice needs to be heard. If you feel like there are any injustices, if you feel like there\u2019s anything going wrong in the world, it needs to be voiced.
