\"\"<\/a>TEMECULA, Calif. (September 14, 2020)<\/strong> \u2013 PGA Director of Instruction at Journey at Pechanga, Randy Chang, received the Teacher of the Year Award from the Southern California PGA (SCPGA). This is the second consecutive year that Randy has earned the prestigious award. As the Director of Instruction at Journey at Pechanga golf course in Temecula, Calif., his dedication to golf education is unmatched across Southern California. It even extends all the way across the Pacific Ocean to Hawaii. Only 11 out of 1,700 golf professionals in the Southern California section received an SCPGA award.<\/p>\n

The Southern California Section of the PGA of America promotes the enjoyment and involvement in the game of golf and contributes to its growth by providing services to golf professionals and the golf industry. Randy\u2019s programs such as Pechanga\u2019s Tiny Tees lessons, Journey Golf Academy and Golf for Girls seasonal golf clinics go hand-in-hand with SCPGA\u2019s mission. Randy is dedicated to early golf education and believes that encouraging youth\u2019s positive habits by way of golf sets a precedent for a healthy lifestyle in the future.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am so humbled to be one of the very few who received a SCPGA award, and what I am even more grateful for is that the award recognized what I\u2019m most proud of in my career\u2026 teaching,\u201d said PGA Director of Instruction at Journey at Pechanga, Randy Chang. \u201cMy number one mission in the golf industry is to spread my passion for the sport to our youth to not only inspire them to adopt healthy lifestyles, but to also teach them proper form when they\u2019re young so that it carries on throughout whatever golf career they may have.\u201d<\/p>\n

Randy Chang has more than 35 years of professional golf experience and has been recognized by the PGA and golf industry with several prestigious awards. In addition to his commitment to educating youth and adults at Journey at Pechanga and Randy Chang Golf Schools, he is also one of the Golf Channel\u2019s Golf Academy instructors in Southern California, as well as the founder of the Aloha Academy of Golf in Hawaii.<\/p>\n

Journey at Pechanga<\/a>\u2019s championship golf course is consistently rated among the top public courses in California. The par-72, 18-hole golf course winds across 7,219 yards. A challenging and rewarding course, it presents a range of topography \u2013 canyons, ravines, open fairways and even a tee shot with a 175-foot drop and is nestled on preserved and sacred tribal grounds. It is currently open to the public with restrictions and limited-use to maintain the health and safety of guests, team members and the community.<\/p>\n
