\"\"<\/a>TEMECULA, Calif.<\/strong> \u2013 (November 8, 2019) \u2013 Randy Chang, PGA Director of Instruction at Journey has been recognized for his contribution to the golf community with two prestigious honors. Chang was recently awarded the honor of Teacher of the Year and the Horton Smith award for service by the Southern California PGA (SCPGA) Inland Empire Chapter.<\/p>\n

The mission of the Southern California Section (SCPGA) of the PGA of America is to promote the enjoyment and involvement in the game of golf and to contribute to its growth by providing services to golf professionals and the golf industry. The\u00a0Horton Smith Award<\/em>\u00a0is an annual award granted to a PGA professional who has made “outstanding and continuing contributions to PGA education.” With programs such as Pechanga\u2019s Tiny Tees program, Journey Golf Academy, and Golf for Girls seasonal golf clinics, Chang has used his professional golf experience to help foster a life-long interest and love for the game through early education.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am honored to be recognized by the SCPGA for my continued efforts in moving the game of golf forward and helping to educate our future golfers. Learning how to play golf is not just about skills, but it\u2019s also about early education and making golf accessible to all,\u201d said Chang. \u201cUsing my experience to help foster a love of the game at an early age and to help golfers of all ages learn new skills and techniques has been the most rewarding experience and is something I hope to do for many more years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n

Randy Chang has more than 35 years of professional golf experience and has been recognized by the PGA and golf industry with several prestigious awards, and is one of the Golf Channel\u2019s Golf Academy instructors in Southern California. He is the founder of the Aloha Academy of Golf in Hawaii and Randy Chang Golf Schools in Southern California, as well as an instructor for all ages at Journey at Pechanga.<\/p>\n

Journey at Pechanga offers several unique programs through the onsite Tiny Tees and Journey Golf Academy. Instructors are able to give golfers of all ages and skill levels a new-found love and bring out skills they didn\u2019t realize they possessed. Featuring an environment focused on education, exercise and of course, fun attendees learn the fundamentals of the golf swing, putting, pitching and famous \u201cChang Chip\u201d techniques, from award-winning PGA professional Randy Chang, Director of Instruction at Journey at Pechanga.<\/p>\n

Journey at Pechanga<\/a>\u2019s championship golf course is consistently rated among the top public courses in California and services approximately 36,500 rounds of golf each year. The par-72, 18-hole golf course winds across 7,219 yards. A challenging and rewarding course, it presents a range of topography \u2013 canyons, ravines, open fairways and even a tee shot with a 175-foot drop and is nestled on preserved and sacred tribal grounds.<\/p>\n
