\"\"<\/a>TEMECULA, Calif.<\/strong> \u2013 (February 12, 2019) \u2013 Just in time for spring break, Journey at Pechanga will be offering free Golf for Girls golf clinics. The 45 minute instruction features a female-friendly environment focused on education, exercise and of course, fun. As an extension of Pechanga\u2019s Tiny Tees program and Journey Golf Academy, Golf for Girls is designed for girls of all experience levels ages 3-18. The limited free golf clinics will take place Sunday, March 24, Sunday, March 31 and Sunday, April 7. Ages 4-7 will play from 12-12:45 p.m. and ages 8-18 from 1-1:45 p.m.<\/p>\n

Golf has been around since the 13th<\/sup> century. While traditionally known as an \u201cold man\u201d sport, golf has quickly become a favorite of millennials and women are fast making their impact on the sport. According to the National Golf Foundation, the likelihood of a player to become a golfer who plays more than eight rounds a year doubles if that person started playing golf before turning 14. On average, 2-3 years of playing will instill the basics needed to allow for a more comfortable experience getting into the game or getting back into the game down the road.<\/p>\n

Currently only 19 percent of all golfers are women with 48 percent of women saying they want to learn golf with other beginners, according to the National Golf Foundation. Women are 38 percent more likely to introduce children to golf than men, according to “The Global Economic Value of Increased Female Participation in Golf” report commissioned by Syngenta, a Swiss biotechnology company that deals primarily in agriculture business.<\/p>\n

Students attending the golf clinics will learn the fundamentals of the golf swing, putting, pitching and famous \u201cChang Chip\u201d techniques, from award-winning PGA professional Randy Chang, Director of Instruction at Journey at Pechanga.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur goal is to help foster a life-long interest in the game and provide girls, beginning at a young age, the skills they need to take into their teen and adult years. By creating a class designed solely for girls at such a young age, we believe they\u2019ll be less intimidated and more engaged by learning alongside peers,\u201d said Chang. \u201cWe believe learning how to play golf is not just about skills but also about early education that may form your child\u2019s sound future.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Golf for Girls clinics will offer new and existing students a girl-friendly environment to learn a sport that can be played for life while empowering girls toward life-long success. Chang hopes they even fall in love with the game. All genders are welcome to participate during the limited spring break offerings and are encouraged to stay aboard for long-term success and education.<\/p>\n

Randy retains the passion for golf that started for him as a teen. He played for three years on scholarship for University of Portland. He has more than 35 years of professional golf experience and has been recognized by the PGA and golf industry with several prestigious awards. He is the founder of the Aloha Academy of Golf in Hawaii and Randy Chang Golf Schools in southern California, as well as an instructor for all ages at Journey at Pechanga.<\/p>\n

Journey at Pechanga offers several unique programs through the onsite Tiny Tees and Journey Golf Academy. Instructors are able to give golfers of all ages and skill levels a new-found love and bring out skills they didn\u2019t realize they possessed.<\/p>\n

Journey at Pechanga<\/a>\u2019s championship golf course is consistently rated among the top public courses in California and services approximately 36,500 rounds of golf each year. The par-72, 18-hole golf course winds across 7,219 yards. A challenging and rewarding course, it presents a range of topography \u2013 canyons, ravines, open fairways and even a tee shot with a 175-foot drop and is nestled on preserved and sacred tribal grounds.<\/p>\n
