A special partnership between the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nba.com\/lakers\">Lakers<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pechanga.com\" target=\"_blank\">Pechanga Resort &amp; Casino<\/a>\u00a0created the \u201cHoops for Troops\u201d program. It offered the chance for 150 U.S. Armed Forces servicemen and women to receive tips from professionals on shooting, dribbling and other skills before the games at Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, at Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, and at the Honda Center in Anaheim. The service members are stationed at Camp Pendleton and at March Air Reserve Base. We want the clinics to be a way of showing them how many people care about them and value their dedication to protecting our country.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Military participants in the Lakers preseason \u201cHoops for Troops\u201d basketball clinics competed in a few on-court challenges for some extra special opportunities. Two people in each clinic won a\u00a0spot to be the Honorary Team Captain and the Game Ball Delivery person. Military participants\u2019 children were\u00a0invited to be a part of the High Five Squad.
