Vegas Siren & Journey Lead Singer Take Over Pechanga Theater this Spring

TEMECULA, Calif., (Feb. 18, 2015) — Filipino recording artists Lani Misalucha and special guest Arnel Pineda are coming to the Pechanga Resort & Casino Theater on May 22, 2015. Lani Misalucha is a Filipino singer now based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dubbed “Asia’s Nightingale,” she is a multi-faceted artist, from pop, rock, jazz, soul, rhythm and blues and operatic arias. Having moved to Las Vegas in 2004, Misalucha became the first Asian to headline a main showroom of the Las Vegas strip performing with Hawaii’s Society of Seven at the Jubilee Theater of Bally’s. Since then, Misalucha has been called “New Siren of the Strip.” In March 2008, Misalucha was voted “Best Singer” in the “27th Annual Best of Las Vegas” poll by the Las Vegas Review Journal.


Misalucha recently returned to the Philippines to great fanfare to release her seventh studio album, The Nightingale Returns: Lani Misalucha Sings the Greatest Filipino Songbook. Featuring 12 songs including its hit single “Muli,” the album also features collaborations with top Filipino acts such as Journey frontman Arnel Pineda. Since its release, the album has peaked to number one as the overall top-selling album in the largest record bar in the Philippines.

Arnel Pineda is also a chart topping recording artist from the Philippines, most notably landing a career defining role as the new lead singer for the rock group Journey in 2007. It was after Pineda’s band The Zoo and the subsequent release of their album Zoology that Pineda’s life changed forever. The band began covering songs by groups such as Journey, Survivor, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, Kenny Loggins, Stryper and other popular acts from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, with more than 200 performances uploaded to YouTube. Videos of The Zoo performing cover songs began appearing on YouTube in 2007 and only a few short months later, Journey chose Pineda to join them as their new leader singer.

When not touring with Journey, Arnel Pineda is in the Philippines and can be seen regularly on television on ASAP, the number one Sunday afternoon show in the country. Recently, he, together with Lani Misalucha and Martin Nievera, headlined the very successful New Year’s Eve Countdown for Solaire Resort and Casino in Manila.
