PECHANGA INDIAN RESERVATION, Calif. – (May 18, 2015) – Special Olympics Southern California, Pechanga and Riverside County Law Enforcement celebrated a kickoff to the 2015 summer games season with the lighting of Flame of Hope at Pechanga Resort & Casino. On a crisp and sunny Sunday afternoon in May, about 150 police officers, firefighters and other law enforcement, Special Olympics athletes and the public gathered outside the resort/casino to see the Special Olympics torch be lit from a ceremonial cauldron. The crowd heard a few remarks by Riverside County Sheriff, Stan Sniff, and by Pechanga Development Corporation board member Ken Perez about their longstanding commitments to the organization.
Before the torch lighting ceremony concluded, Pechanga presented a $20,000 check to the Special Olympics to help support critical programs in the community. Athletes then laced up their shoes as they readied for the ceremonial first lap through the hotel/casino’s valet area.

Marian Williams made a decision very early on Thanksgiving morning to drive over to Pechanga Resort & Casino and play slots before the cooking and cleaning of the rest of the day.

The most recent big win, a bingo scored by Theodore Tyler of Murrieta, Calif., totaled $11,128. Tyler came into Pechanga Bingo for the matinee session on Monday, June 9 and played in a “Pick 8s in 18” and thrilled himself by getting a bingo. The jackpot prize for this uncommon bingo game carried a progressive amount of $11,128.00. “I’m not sure right now what I’ll do with my windfall, but I’m going to enjoy my summer some more,” he told Pechanga Bingo staff.
On May 31, Debra K. from San Marcos, Calif. sat down inside Pechanga Bingo for the evening session and played for five minutes. TEMECULA, Calif. – (March 4, 2014) – Single mother of a four-year-old girl, Natosha Heard, had been having some bad luck the last few months. The transmission on her unreliable car had died and she was driving a rental car. Payments for the rental car and other bills had begun to pile up. On Sunday, March 2, she managed to get a day off from tending to patients and health care providers as a health care insurance representative.
