4 Charities Receive Donations from Pechanga Charity Golf Classic

Pechanga Indian ReservationCalif., (Aug. 27 2014) - Pechanga hosted a two-day charity golf tournament last week that that raised  more than $100,000 for the Semper Fi Fund, School on Wheels, Operation SafeHouse, and United Friends of the Children.

In its 16th year, the Pechanga Charity Golf Classic has brought together Tribal government and Indian gaming industry leaders to raise nearly $1 million for vital nonprofits throughout the region. The event has grown in recent years to a two-day event that now includes more than 300 golfers on the championship Journey at Pechanga course.

“We deeply appreciate the work these non-profits do for our wounded veterans, homeless children, and young people,” said Patrick Murphy, President of the Pechanga Development Corporation. “We’re humbled to be in a position to support this important work that will lead to better outcomes for people throughout our region. Although Iraq and Afghanistan are not in the headlines like before, we can never forget the thousands of soldiers who served and sacrificed and will need our support for decades to come.”   Read More

 TEMECULA, Calif. – (April 8, 2014) – Coming off a nearly week-long majors stint in the Palm Springs area, many of the LPGA’s top players headed west on Monday, April 7 to play amid the Temecula Valley wine country and support a worthy cause. Nineteen pro players, along with 101 other golfers, participated in the 2nd Annual KoreAm Pro-Am, an event that hosts LPGA invited players and raises awareness for the LPGA Foundation whose mission is to empower and inspire girls and women through the game, on the links at Journey at Pechanga. The sisters and four year old border collies, were recently selected as the only dogs from a Southern California golf course for the 2014 GSCAA Dog Days of Golf calendar, a prestigious honor as it goes out to nearly 50,000 people across the country.
