TEMECULA, Calif. – (January 22, 2018) – Pechanga Resort & Casino, California’s largest resort/casino and the #1 casino in the U.S. voted by readers of USA Today in 2015, has just named Michael Henry as the new head Chef of Kelsey’s. With over 25 years of culinary experience, Chef Michael is leading Kelsey’s, an upscale American pub, into the New Year alongside Pechanga Resort & Casino’s recent $285 million resort expansion.

Hailing from the East Coast, Henry has made Southern California home for many years. Chef Michael has successfully led teams and catered to many palates and appetites at prestigious casinos, fine dining restaurants and top tourist destinations. With experience at several premier properties both locally and nationally, Henry brings his hands-on experience and culinary creativity to the Kelsey’s team. He has tasked himself with taking Kelsey’s identity as a top-notch BBQ destination and American style pub to the next level.

Henry first began his restaurant experience at a young age of 14 and instantly knew he enjoyed the environment and passion of the work. Following high school graduation from Ocean City, N.J., Henry attended Johnson and Wales University in Charleston, S.C. before making his way to Southern California. He worked his way methodically through the ranks, becoming a chef and taking on all the responsibility attached.

With years of experience and hands-on training, Chef Michael’s goal is to take what he does well and accentuate it through the Kelsey’s menu of offerings. With the introduction of a greater sense of seasonal flair to the dishes, Kelsey’s restaurant goers will experience Chef Michael’s attention to fresh ingredients, overall quality, attention to detail and exquisite taste.

When not serving up delicious quality food at Kelsey’s, Henry keeps himself busy as father to three sons whose lives he’s actively involved in – often spending time playing the guitar and enjoying music together. Henry also takes advantage of the Southern California backdrop with trips to San Diego for afternoon surfing and time at-home gardening.

Renovated in 2015, Kelsey’s was redesigned to be an inviting environment where guests could feel at home as they enjoyed their favorite top-notch BBQ dishes and beer on tap.
