Lion Fight 23 Main Event Fighter Liam Harrison – Fights at Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, Calif.

It’s not every day that you meet an athlete who turned pro at 14 years old. Qualifying Liam “The Hitman” Harrison is an absolute novelty. Not only did the hard-nosed Brit begin fighting professionally at age 14 – Harrison went unbeaten for the next 29 fights.

The 29-year-old Harrison participates in pro fight #99 when he meets legendary Muay Thai fighter Malaipet Sasiprapa on Friday in the Lion Fight 23 main event. I recently caught up with Harrison, a knockout artist, on Facebook Messenger. What follows is our interview, which features Harrison discussing his finisher’s mindset, why turning pro at 14 was the right thing to do, and how he also intends to beat Malaipet in a dance-off after their fight.  Read More

Journey’s 18th Green Now More Forgiving

TEMECULA, Calif. — (July 20, 2015) – Journey at Pechanga, the championship 18-hole golf course on the Pechanga Resort & Casino grounds, announces it has bid adieu to the 18th hole’s severe Biarritz green. Too many frustration-toned online comments and chatter overheard in the 19th hole that golfers were left scratching their heads by the green caused course management to make a sweeping and softening change. Heavy machinery and greenskeepers moved in in late May to start the process of raising and diminishing the large side to side dip in the middle of the green. They completed the project in late June which brought the Biarritz from a rigid taco shell to a smooth, slightly curved potato chip.  Read More

TEMECULA, Calif. — (June 19, 2015) – Pechanga Resort & Casino celebrates the 4th of July with a patriotic fireworks display on Saturday, July 4 at dusk (approximately 9:00p.m.). The show will run for about 20 minutes and is put on as an exhibition for the entire Temecula Valley community to enjoy. Spectators will be able to view the fireworks from Pechanga Resort & Casino in limited and designated parking areas.

As a pillar and partner of the Temecula Valley community, Pechanga offers the July 4th fireworks celebration as a way to encourage family and friends to share the spirit of freedom and independence fought for by millions of service men and women.

The fireworks celebration also allows the community to come together this summer as the annual Pechanga Pow Wow has been postponed due to planning and preparation for upcoming construction. Late last year, the Pechanga Tribe announced plans for a $285 million resort expansion. The popular pow wow is postponed for at least two years in an effort to offer guests the best possible experience while visiting the Temecula resort.
