After breaking out from R&B group, New Edition in 1989, Bell Biv Devoe was formed with members Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ronnie Devoe. The band instantly shot to fame with their debut, multi-platinum selling album “Poison” in the 1990’s.
Two singles from the trio’s debut album, “Poison” and “Do Me”, reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1990, followed by selling over four million copies. The band also took home the Best R&B Album of the Year at the Soul Train Music Awards in 1991, in addition to an American Music Award in 1992.
